Microsoft Picture Manager takes several minutes to load.Solved: Windows 10 Photo Viewer Is Slow To Open Or Not Working

It is Picture Manager that I'm having problems with - I don't use the tools, but I can't see how to cleanly remove them. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Install, redeem, activate Microsoft and Office Search Community member.

I have found that deleting the OIScatalog. Try repairing office and check if it helps. If repair of office fails, try uninstalling office using the fixit from the following link and then re-install it back on the computer and check if it helps.

I have the same question Report abuse. Restarted Picture Manager and all good. Name required. Mail will not be published required. Tips and Tricks Random tech ramblings. Display page load time ». Microsoft Office Picture Manager takes a lot of time to load Is your Microsoft office manager taking way too much time to load? When I copy the photos to another disk hard drive , the same problem persists -- the photos do not show no matter what "viewer" I use, including re-opening with Office Picture Manager.

Further, when I try to review them using the SD card in my camera, the camera gives me the error message "Cannot Play Back Image" with a question mark. This is a Canon T2i. I crowd sourced this on Facebook and the suggestion was to look for updates to my pc. Sure enough, my computer auto installed an update to Office and several Windows updates a couple of days before I had this first-time-ever-in-years-of-use problem.

The updates did NOT include the Windows 8. When I cruise forums, I see many people have complained about this type of error over recent years, even though I had never personally encountered it.

I have never seen a MS response that seemed to address the problem. Mostly the responses assume a corrupt SD card or incorrect transfer of photos or incorrect use of the software incorrect saving or renaming, accidental deleting, etc. I have a well established work flow that is identical and I unintentionally recreated the exact same error using two different SD cards seven days apart but making no other changes to my process or pc other than the updates that came automatically.

I literally have 50, pictures I have previously edited using the exact same workflow that I used prior to this problem occurring in the last 7 days. I'd like to know if the Office or Windows update is the likely cause of MS Office killing my pix, how to report this as a bug, whether I should undo the update, if so -- HOW to undo the update should I undo the Office update or the Windows update?

How do you take away the bad caused without impacting the good intended?
