[SOLVED] Keyboard and Mouse won't work during a Windows 7 install.
I've seen a couple of threads on this topic but I honestly can't see any answers that work worikng this case. Had a user complain of blue screens so came down to help her, her Windows was broken so tried to run a Windows Repair.
This didn't fix windows 7 format keyboard and mouse not working free. Decided to just start from scratch with a re-install after running a chkdsk and memory test. Cleared the disk through cmd and went to install Windows. The desktop refuses keybozrd windows 7 format keyboard and mouse not working free the mouse and keyboard. They work in BIOS, but as soon as you hit the language selection page on the Windows install they just don't respond.
The only thing I haven't tried is a PS1 mouse and keyboard, I don't think we have any in the business I had windwos exact issue with that model of PC. The USB ports are some new kind that Windows 7 doesn't understand. I use WDS for my images so it was easy fomrat I don't know what you use.
Nope it's just a standard Windows disk. Might have to dig around formta find the original HP one. I would contact HP support but I'd rather rub bits of glass into my eyes I would have thought that the HP mouse that came with it would work?
It's just a basic one they ship with every PC It's not the KB and mouse. It's the USB port. If your media doesn't have drivers for the USB controller, Windows can't see it. Have you installed chipset drivers and Intel USB 3. If not then of course USB devices will not work. And also the computer performance is sluggish without these drivers. Fundamental differences here.
